About
A Photographer’s and River Conservation Dream Tour!
Cruise from Bar Harbor to Bangor and up the mighty Penobscot River, Maine’s largest river, like an Atlantic Salmon returning from sea. This trip will take place during peak Maine fall foliage and include stops at 10 beautiful coastal and island lighthouses. Join members from the founding organizations of the Penobscot River Restoration Trust including the Penobscot Nation, American Rivers, Atlantic Salmon Federation, Maine Audubon, Natural Resources Council of Maine, The Nature Conservancy, and Trout Unlimited and learn about their past conservation efforts and those that are underway to restore the river’s health.
Professional Maine photographer Michael Leonard will be onboard to help you take excellent photos and “get your best shot” and B and H Photo Store will be onboard with professional camera lenses for you to try out and to discuss your photography equipment needs.
Maine 35-year naturalist Zack Klyver and Bob Trapani Jr., the President of the American Lighthouse Foundation, will be onboard to host the tour and provide informative and fun narration. Learn all about the history of the lighthouses, area wildlife, and the history of the Penobscot River.
